The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the most cherished traditions deeply rooted in Asian culture. Countries such as Japan, South Korea, China, and Vietnam have each passed down their own unique cultural traditions and customs. Although the traditions may vary, the Mid-Autumn Festival is a special day to step away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, cherish time spent with loved ones, and reaffirm the bonds of family.
In Vietnam, the Mid-Autumn Festival is also known as “Tết Đoàn viên,” and it is considered a “day of togetherness” when families gather to share their feelings with one another. No matter how busy work may be, people make time as much as possible on this day to return to their families.The whole family walks through the streets holding lanterns, enjoys lion dances, sips tea while savoring Mid-Autumn Mooncakes, and gazes at the full moon—though each moment may seem ordinary on its own, it is the accumulation of these warm moments that makes the Mid-Autumn Festival, this “season of togetherness,” all the more special.The Mid-Autumn Festival is an important day for reaffirming the bonds we share with our families.
